The Long Lab opened in the Department of Biology at the University of Kentucky in Lexington, KY in Jan. 2025.
Our goal is to build a supportive, inclusive, and creative environment where we can tackle fundamental questions about the cytoskeleton with interdisciplinary tools and perspectives. We welcome group members with diverse interests and/or backgrounds in cell biology, microbiology, developmental biology, physics, engineering and beyond.
Prospective graduate students interested in pursuing an M.S. or Ph.D. should read about the UKy Biology Graduate Program and reach out to Alex beforehand during the Fall ’25 semester by email (alexandra [dot] long [at] uky [dot] edu) to discuss research interests prior to applying.
Undergraduates interested in pursuing research projects (either FWS or Bio 395 credits) for Fall ’25 or Spring ’26 should reach to Alex this summer via email to discuss possibilities and include a CV/resume and one paragraph description of their interests and motivation for working in the lab.
